Moorland Gold™ organic composts are unique as they are derived from natural moorland deposits. These deposits are sourced and collected from Pennine filter beds to improve drinking water quality. They are then utilized by blending with carefully selected ingredients – forest by-products, coir, river sand, minerals and organic nutrients – to create natural growing mediums.
Moorland Gold™ organic composts are suitable for a variety of uses, from general gardening to specialized growing mediums. These are rich in minerals and trace elements, which encourages the growth of strong and healthy plants, with the reduced need for additional feeding. No artificial ingredients are added, so you can be sure resulting plants will grow as nature intended.

A Note From Russell
People ask about Moorland gold and about the blend so i will try and explain a little more in depth.
We have the rights to clean out pre dams that collect river sediment, leaves, vegetation rocks, sand and any deposits washed into the collection area.
All of which are a waste product that would have to be removed from the dam weather we utilise it or not . The pre dams are there to prevent the material washing down into the main drinking water reservoir and filling up with sediment retaining the maximum capacity of drinking water.
The deposits / sediment are dug out of the man made collection area and then separated using a screening machine although nature does it for us to a certain extent.
Any peat in those deposits would have naturally released the c02 before being washed down the river .This is a natural process, we are utilizing to prevent them going to land fill which would be an incredible waste of a nutrient rich product. The river sediment is then piled up and left to rot down and then blended with organic and certified ingredients to create our Moorland gold growing medium.
We have developed another option using the same ingredients except we have taken out the river deposits for customers who would prefer it without.
